1. The Story of Ahiqar

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. We begin with the help of God Almighty.
This is Ahiqar, the wise scribe. He lived during the times of Sennacherib, king of Nineveh.
He served the king in the city of Nineveh.
[1v]
And he said about himself, 'I, Ahiqar, was young and I married but I never had the glad tidings of a child.'
O my son, if you hear an evil word, bury it in your heart.
O my son, do not gaze at heights.
He was a [pharaoh].
This is the great truth.
[And he said to him], 'Listen to my words.'
