Urna breve contiene el vasto pecho
en que tan magno corazón cabía,
que de Europa los términos tenía
de sus victorias por Teatro estrecho.

Suele tal ambición de algún provecho,
de los Reyes o Reinos que oprimía
gozo la gloria con descanso un día,
sin inquietud, congoja, y aun despecho.

Emulo de Alejandro se juzgaba
por razón no de pocos admitida
apadrinada de dichosa suerte.

Y cuando conoció que le faltaba
para igualar su Victoriosa Vida,
se conectó con su temprana muerte.
