No se dejó vencer mi pensamiento
de tan desvanecidas confianzas,
que atreviese jamás las esperanzas
a vuestro celestial merecimiento.
A la belleza corporal atento
que del tiempo desprecia las mudanzas,
siempre le dirigí las alabanzas
porque de la Virtud era ornamento.
En ellas sus reflejos resplandecen
cual los del Sol en nube transparente,
y colores le influyen más lustrosos.
Los rayos de esta luz sólo merecen
herir el corazón suavemente,
que los de Amor en mí ya son ociosos.
