Este polvo que agitan Mar, y Viento,
de vidrio a cárcel breve reducido,
las horas de la edad en repetido
y continuo señala movimiento.

Representado con el mudo acento,
y por eso de pocos entendido,
entre el tiempo que fue y el que no ha sido
el presente que vino de un momento.

Al fenecer el curso de mi vida
fenecerán los males que me han dado
noticia tal de la flaqueza humana.

Que ni temo el morir, ni se me olvida
que vidrio quebradizo y aun quebrado
soy ahora, y seré polvo mañana.
