Pues te resuelves a tomar estado
Fabio portan legítimas razones,
este examen de todas tus acciones
te deba más solícito cuidado.
Y ni de la hermosura lisonjeado,
ni de otras naturales perfecciones,
a la Virtud un átomo perdones,
sino te quieres dar por desdichado.
Son los demás caducos accidentes,
ella esencial y propio bien del hombre,
juzga si te merece tal desvelo.
Dirás que es afectar inconvenientes
y fuerza contentarnos con el nombre
si no subimos a buscarla al Cielo.
