Desprecio no piedad del Elemento
que excitan procelosos alborotos,
destrozado el timón, los remos rotos,
Velas y Jarcias ya triunfó del viento.

No por tan infeliz menos contento
vencí en la playa Piélagos ignotos,
y al patrio templo los sagrados votos
en fechas ofrecí del escarmiento.

Cuando embistiendo el leño fatigado
nuevo Huracán, con implacable guerra
entre peñascos le arrojó de hielo.

Donde el áspero clima le ha varado,
pues no puede tomar puerto en la tierra
señor Abril de puerta par el Cielo.
