Lelio en vano presumo tu energía
del vulgo reformar las opiniones,
que a pesar de precisas soluciones
en lo que entiende menos más porfía.

Si contender su claridad al día
pueden las litigiosas confusiones,
a riego tal inadvertido expones
tanta ociosa a mi ver Filosofía.

Platón no te predica perseguido,
Sócrates no te influye castigado,
cuanto aventuran en severos modos.

Del engaño de tantos admitido
de nadie debe ser desestimado
siente como ellos y habla como todos.
