Con achacosos pies a paso lento
emprendo fatigado peregrino
de la Virtud el áspero camino,
arrastrando mi propio desaliento.
Del voluntario error no descontento
a volverle a seguir me determino,
tropezando en mi torpe desatino
con menos luz y más conocimiento.
Llegar a vos sin mi Señor no puedo,
y conmigo será dificultoso
mientras no disolvéis lazo tan fuerte.
Pues no basta el amor rómpale el miedo,
en el castigo os mostraréis piadoso
si me dais vida amenazando muerte.
