Amante ruiseñor que das al viento
las quejas donde vive mi esperanza;
que, aunque el viento es imagen de mudanza,
sólo en él mi dolor vive de asiento.
En ti turbó la paz de tu elemento
aquel brazo, que a toda vida alcanza;
también me hirió, mas con mayor pujanza,
cuando el golpe de envidia es más violento.
A los dos sólo un golpe dio la muerte
(porque de único asunto no presumas):
a mí los ojos, cuando a ti las balas.
¡Oh, cuánto más te mejoró la suerte!
Hiérete amor y déjate con plumas,
para seguir un ofensor con alas.
