Viendo España la pérdida temprana
de Carlos, que hoy los astros acrecienta,
a deidad memoriosa se lamenta
que en Templo no mortal reside ufana.

Divina en ciencia y en respuesta humana,
no sólo con alivios la alimenta,
mas en glorioso rapto la presenta
a Carlos que hace su querella vana.

Satisfechas se vencen sus querellas;
las de llanto son ya de gozo fuentes,
mirando un godo ejército cristiano.

Contempla a Carlos entre formas bellas,
añadido a sus altos ascendientes;
parte alegre y consuela al gran hermano.
