Ese de la amistad indicio raro,
ígneo docto, palacio de Agustino,
que a ser espejo, más que riesgo, vino,
pues salió de peligro, siendo claro,

lisonja es contra Esculapio avaro;
cuando, más que el humor fiero y maligno,
niega al incendio opuesto cristalino
y hace al rigor de más rigor reparo.

Si repitiere (¡oh nunca!) el accidente,
que el cuerpo, aun menos que el temor, inflama,
y receláis el elemento al labio.

Pues vaso de elección sois eminente,
que hoy refriega la temida llama:
templad la fiebre, imagen de su agravio.
