Virués tu musa, pluma, estilo y vena,
compone, escribe, suma, imita y canta,
vuela, sube, se encumbra y se levanta
a la parte del Cielo más serena.

Y allí a la Virgen de milagros llena
que en Monserrate su holocausto planta
flores y frutos ofrecen de la planta
por quien tu acento sonoroso suena,

y como adorna el Sol de luz la Aurora
y con su lumbre alumbra noche y día
de un Polo al otro y dura eternamente,

tal a tu Musa heroica, alta y sonora
inflamó la purísima María
con llama viva del eterno Oriente.
