Con llama viva del eterno Oriente
en cuyo origen nace, vive y dura
el hado, la Fortuna, arte y natura
lo esencial, sustancial y el accidente.

Y como en un cristal claro y luciente
lo visible se forma y se figura,
así en la inmensa Idea eterna y pura,
del todo el todo está fijo y presente,

en esta prima causa y suma ciencia
estaba de Virués la excelsa Musa
para tal ministerio reservada.

Y de tanta virtud su mente infusa
nos canta de Garín la penitencia
digna de ser de todos imitada.
