Tráeme amor de pensamiento vano
a cuidado y enojo verdadero,
y muéstrame el comienzo hacedero
y todo inconveniente muy liviano.

Y si con él me veo mano a mano,
hallole ser de mí tan extranjero,
que él, que parecía más ligero,
me parece pesado y inhumano.

Yo me vi tan metido en la celada,
que deseé pagarlo con la vida;
mas el alma, que fuera de sí estaba,

como para la muerte hay salida,
volviese a comenzar otra jornada;
mas esta para mí nunca se acaba.
