Aquestos vientos ásperos y helados,
de espesas nubes y tinieblas llenos,
de ardientes rayos y terribles truenos
con súbitos relámpagos rasgados,
aunque en mi daño siempre conjurados,
ya fueron tiempos claros y serenos,
de mi dudoso bien terceros buenos,
y en esperar mi gloria prosperados.
¡Cuán presto pasa un temple del verano,
y cuán despacio destemplados tiempos,
y cuánto cuesta un bien no conocido!
¡Ay buena suerte y venturosa! en vano
triste la larga en breves pasatiempos
del tiempo bien llorado y mal perdido.
