Cuando las gentes van todas buscando
cómo tener placer y alegres días,
haciendo unos con otros alegrías,
sin jamás otra cosa estar pensando;

entonces ando yo imaginando
todas las penas y congojas mías,
revuelto el corazón en fantasías,
lágrimas dolorosas derramando;

visitando las tristes sepulturas,
interrogando almas infernales,
y ellas responden por claras figuras;

que no tienen consuelo allá en sus males
sino sólo en sentir mis desventuras
a quien ningunas pueden ser iguales.
