Jorge, que fui ladrón hasta una paja,
en memoria de mi arte y suficiencia,
a la puerta consagro de esta Audiencia
este dedal de plomo, esta navaja.

Nunca entre noche y día hice ventaja,
ni entre manga y bragueta diferencia;
cualquier bolsa me daba la obediencia,
inclinábase a mí cualquier alhaja.

Teniendo tanta honra ya ganada,
no hay para que hollar pisadas viejas
ni andar del blanco al negro salpicando.

Recójome, aunque tarde, a la posada,
contento con dejar ambas orejas,
por no quedar al sol bamboleando.
