Soneto VIII

En este vaso, que forjó Vulcano,
obra por cierto de mi buen deseo,
brindis, Anacreón, que ya te veo
abrir la boca y extender la mano.
Que mucho pues que del cabello cano
trueques en rojo el venerable aseo,
lozano viejo estás; sin duda creo,
que sólo el brindis te volvió lozano.
Pues ola, en tanto que esta breve vida
del carro imita las veloces ruedas
tú de Bathylo; yo de Philigrave.
Al dulce dueño de esta vid florida
encomendemos la pasión suave:
que todo es sueño cuando amar no puedas.
