Soneto XI

Deseos que salís por mi ventura,
no cual espurios, no cual naturales,
sino legitimados en mis males
y al fin nacidos de ocasión segura.
Puesto que os di por madre su hermosura
y por padre, mis ojos manantiales
que desde que vivís andan mortales,
y no sin accidentes de locura.
Haced que viva, con haced que os hiera
una suave posesión lasciva;
que si se trueca entre los dos la fuerte,
mi dicha será, Phenix, sin que muera.
Pelícanos vosotros, por quien viva,
y víbora yo mismo, que os de muerte.
