Reina del grande Océano dichosa,
sin quien a España falta la grandeza,
a quien valor, ingenio y la nobleza
hacen más estimada y generosa.
¿Cuál diré que tú seas, luz hermosa
de Europa? Tierra, no, que tu riqueza
y gloria no se cierra en tu estrecheza;
cielo, sí, de virtud maravillosa.
Oye y se espanta y no te cree el que mira
tu poder y abundancia, de tal modo
con la presencia ve menor la fama.
No ciudad, eres orbe, en ti se admira
junto cuanto en las otras se derrama,
parte de España, mas mejor que el todo.
