Al sereno esplendor de luz ardiente,
de celestial zafiro a la belleza
la alma, volando en torno con presteza,
las alas rojas mueve dulcemente.
Amor, que de este cielo nunca ausente
respira, le descubre su grandeza,
y de gloria mil bienes y riqueza,
que sola ella los conoce y siente.
En este engaño siempre va, y se olvida
de quien, cuidoso de su afán, la llama,
y en conocido error cansa y porfía;
porque espera tal vez allí, encendida
do aquellas puras luces en la llama
hallar sepulcro igual a su osadía.
