En sortijas y flores de oro ardiente,
de perlas y rubíes coronada,
con hermosas figuras enlazada,
cercó mi Luz la bella blanca frente.

Los olores que siembran en oriente,
y la ámbar que en sus hebras fue sagrada,
se movieron con la aura sosegada,
cual en el manso mar el sol luciente.

Espíritus de amor en aquel fuego
armaron las saetas y cadena
y ardió el cruel, herido preso cuello.

Yo, traspasado el pecho quedé ciego;
mas fue mucho mayor mi acerba pena
que en llama eterna me enredó el cabello.
