¡Oh breve don de tu agradable engaño,
dulce mal del contento aborrecido,
cuán presto pierdes el color florido
y muestras los despojos de tu daño!
El oro vuelto en plata un blanco paño
cubre, y el color vivo y encendido
de los ojos, sin fuerza ya y perdido,
de tu vencido orgullo es desengaño.
Acabas y tu dura tiranía.
Y al fin, si acabas, mueres con victoria
de nuestro error en devaneo tanto.
Mas quien por ti se olvida y desvaría
del camino, perece sin memoria
con mayor culpa en su perpetuo llanto.
