Esas columnas y arcos, grande muestra
del antiguo valor, que admira el suelo,
olvidad, Escobar; moved el vuelo
a la insigne y dichosa patria vuestra;

que no menos alegre acá se muestra
o menos favorable el claro cielo,
antes en dulce paz y sin recelo
vida suave y ocio y suerte diestra.

No con menor grandeza y ufanía
que el generoso Treno al mar Tirreno,
Betis honra al Océano pujante;

mas si oye vuestra lira y armonía,
no temerá vencer, de gloria lleno,
la corriente del Nilo resonante.
