Mi pura Luz, si olvida el fértil suelo
que Betis enriquece en Occidente,
y abre las frías nubes con ardiente
rayo, esparciendo en torno el rico velo,
el asiento más digno será el cielo
al sacro esplendor suyo reluciente,
y de allí con las llamas de su frente
romperá el rigor duro al torpe hielo;
o ya que aun no se debe a la belleza
sin el riesgo de ausencia, será el grado
propio el pecho do yace obedecida;
que a tal valor del mundo la grandeza,
o la alma en sus centellas encendida
es de esta excelsa Luz lugar sagrado.
