Podrá (y no yerro) nunca luz ardiente
tocar mi pecho, y nunca ser vencido
de oro podrá, en madejas esparcido,
con gloria de otra ilustre y bella frente;

que vuestra luz, do yace Amor presente,
tiene, y el rico cerco recogido,
mi cuello y pecho preso y mal herido,
y dulcemente el yugo y fuego siente.

Nací yo destinado a vuestra llama,
amor me dio valor para mi muerte,
y pago, amando a vos, la deuda nuestra.

Volando voy do el ciego ardor me inflama,
cual va a su fuerza el cielo, y es mi suerte
en vuestro fuego arder, y helaros vuestra.
