Suspiro y pruebo con la voz doliente
que en su dolor espire el alma mía,
crece el suspiro en vano y mi agonía,
y el mal renueva siempre su accidente.
Estas peñas, do solo muero ausente,
rompe mi suspirar en noche y día
y no hiere, ¡oh dolor de mi porfía!
a quien estos suspiros no consiente.
Suspirando no muero y no deshago
parte de mi pasión, mas vuelvo al llanto,
y, cesando las lágrimas, suspiro.
Esfuerza Amor el suspirar que hago,
y como el cisne muere en dulce canto,
así acabo la vida en el suspiro.
