- CLXXI -

Mi bien, que tardo fue a llegar, en vuelo
pasó, cual rota niebla por el viento,
y creció siempre horrible mi tormento
después que me cercó el temor y el hielo.
Alzaba mi esperanza al alto cielo;
pero en el comenzado movimiento
cayó muerta, y llorando sin aliento,
me lastimo, desierto en este suelo,
donde, pagado sólo de mi llanto,
huyo aun livianas muestras de alegría,
ausente, aborrecido y olvidado.
Triste memoria indina esfuerza el canto,
y quejoso en la instante pena mía
descanso cuando gimo más cuidado.
