Temiendo su valor, tu ardiente espada,
sublime Carlo, el bárbaro africano
y el espantoso a todos otomano
la altiva frente inclina quebrantada.
Italia, en propia sangre sepultada,
el invencible, el áspero germano,
y del francés osado el pecho ufano
al yugo rinde la cerviz cansada.
Alce España los arcos en memoria,
y en columnas a una y otra parte
despojos y coronas de victoria;
que ya en tierra y en mar no queda parte
que no sea trofeo de tu gloria,
ni resta más honor al fiero Marte.
