Pues de este luengo mal penando muero,
sin que remedio alguno estorbe el daño,
amor me dé, en consuelo de mi engaño,
falso placer ajeno, aunque postrero;

que mi dolor anime el duro acero,
y en blanda saña el tibio desengaño,
y el desdén manso, en cuya ausencia engaño
mi perdición, y en vano el bien espero;

para que de mi muerte la memoria,
y en voluntad ingrata mi firmeza
haga a la edad siguiente insigne historia,

que de mis esperanzas y riqueza
fincarán (¡corto premio a tanta gloria!)
deseos acabados en tristeza.
