Canso la vida en esperar un día
de fingido placer, huyen los años
y nacen de ellos mil sabrosos daños
que esfuerzan el error de mi porfía.
Los pasos por do voy a mi alegría
tan desusados son y tan extraños
que al fin van a acabarse en mis engaños
y de ellos vuelvo a comenzar la vía.
Descubro en el principio otra esperanza
si no mayor, igual a la pasada
y en el mismo deseo persevero;
mas luego torno a la común mudanza
de la suerte en mi daño conjurada,
y esperando contino desespero.
