Dura por mí fue al Tajo tu partida,
dejando solo el Betis, Arellano,
y en llanto me obligó y dolor insano
tu ausencia, de mí siempre aborrecida.
Tú sabes que esparció a mi triste vida
afán el cielo y cuita en larga mano,
y en mi mal dulce amigo eras y hermano,
y no hay quien me consuele ya en tu ida.
Hiriome fiera el pecho mi Luz bella,
y se escondió a mi vista, y con ardiente
fuego a la alma abrasó, en su mal envuelta;
Y tú, que eras descanso a mi querella,
te vas en tanto, sin dejar presente
una cierta esperanza de tu vuelta.
