Cuando cantar deseo la belleza
vuestra y serena luz, que humilde honro,
el esplendor y puros rayos de oro,
do afinan los de Febo su riqueza,

reconozco el valor y la grandeza
en quien de eterno ardor celeste coro
ensalzó de sus bienes el tesoro,
y desigual me inclino a tanta alteza.

Dadme favor alguno en vuestra gloria,
de honesto amor oh llama generosa,
y de nuestra edad oh raro ejemplo,

porque a la eternidad de la memoria
por precio de beldad maravillosa
consagre vuestro nombre yo en su templo.
