Por un camino, solo, al sol abierto,
de espinas y de abrojos mal sembrado,
el tardo paso muevo y voy cansado
a do cierra la vuelta el mar incierto.

Silencio triste habita este desierto
y el mal que hay, conviene ser callado;
cuando pienso acaballo, acrecentado
veo el camino y mi trabajo cierto.

A un lado levantan su grandeza
los riscos juntos, con el cielo iguales,
al otro cae un gran despeñadero.

No sé de quien me valga en mi estrecheza,
que me libre de Amor y de estos males,
pues remedio de voz, mi Luz, no espero.
