El suave esplendor de la belleza,
que alegre en vos espira dulcemente,
y la serena luz do Amor presente
templa los puros rayos de terneza,

en el más claro asiento de la alteza
vos hacen entre tantas diferente,
que por vos glorioso el Occidente
su nombre sólo ensalza con grandeza.

Mas el valor, el noble entendimiento,
el espíritu, el intento generoso,
asciende a la región de luz serena;

y fuera del humano sentimiento
de envidia, sin temor llamaros oso
¡oh sola en nuestra edad, bella sirena!
