No siento ya del modo que sentía
del dulce amor los hechos, ni el contento
que en el tierno dolor de mi tormento
y en mi sola tristeza descubría;

porque esto que perpetuo yo fingía
no alcanza mi doliente sentimiento,
y no se puede ¡ay hado violento!
guardar bien tanto en la memoria mía.

Pierdo triste el sentido con la pena
que tengo en verme en tal estado puesto,
lleno de confusión, de bien desierto.

Del cuello flojo arrastra la cadena
a mi despecho, y voy al fin dispuesto
para sufrir de grado el daño cierto.
