Ardía, en varios cercos recogido,
del crispante cabello en torno, el oro,
que en bellos lazos coronado adoro,
dichoso en el dolor del mal sufrido.

Vibraba el esplendor esclarecido
y dulces rayos, del amor tesoro,
por quien perdida busco fiel y lloro
la gloria de mi daño consentido.

Veste negra, descuido recatado,
suave voz de angélica armonía
era, mesura y trato soberano.

Yo, que tal no esperaba, transportado,
dije, en la pura luz que me encendía:
«No encierra tal valor semblante humano».
