Si tiene a do reináis, mi pura Estrella,
lugar la fe, en la pena que consiento
mostrad algún pequeño sentimiento,
y el premio vendrá a ser que espero de ella;
pero si vos queréis que pierda en ella
este bien, acabad con mi tormento;
que a quien daña el valor del pensamiento
no es justo permitáis vivir con ella.
Y si estas obras, de afición ausente,
en vuestra voluntad tal vez la gloria
gozan que se concede al venturoso,
aquí do estoy diré que estoy presente,
y que más vale el mal de mi memoria
que el bien que causa ajeno amor dichoso.
