La red, el hacha, la cadena, el dardo
que en el bello esplendor alegre veo
de mi luz, al Amor dieron trofeo,
y al fuego me llevaron en que ardo.
Apresa tan veloz jamás el pardo
saltó como el cruel a mi deseo;
yo resistí en mi ofensa, y no deseo
ser ya contra sus fuerzas más gallardo.
El orgullo, el desdén, el libre pecho
y ufanas esperanzas de victoria
son vergüenza del daño que consiento.
Tan sujeto y sin gloria alguna y hecho
estoy, por mi dolor, en mi tormento,
que sólo reina el mal por mi memoria.
