Tú, que vengando con la armada mano
el ya perdido honor del Occidente,
teñiste del Ionio la corriente
con la vertida sangre de otomano;

y volviendo, en el piélago africano
venciste el reino antiguo y tiria gente,
y del francés y escoto el pecho ardiente
rompiste, y la pujanza del germano;

y de rendir cansado el mar y tierra,
descansas ya en la paz del alto cielo;
que la tierra era poca a tanta gloria;

ahora, que amenaza cruda guerra
el impío cita y tiembla todo el suelo,
ven, o envía a los tuyos la victoria.
