Por ti Betis humilde al Tebro admira,
Tebro, mayor que el Arno celebrado,
y entre lucientes astros colocado,
envidioso Erídano lo mira.

Contigo calla el coro de Elicona,
que baña el cuerpo en su cristal corriente,
y pierde el dulce niño los despojos;

que del materno mirto la corona
teje para ceñir tu sabia frente,
o canta o cierre siempre Amor sus ojos.
