Si de nuestra amistad el nudo estrecho
por desdén o liviano movimiento
(que culpa no conozco en mí ni siento)
queréis que sea sin razón deshecho;

aunque no me saldrá del firme pecho
del justo amor el gran merecimiento,
y he de llevar contino, descontento,
la injusta pena de este injusto hecho,

romped los lazos ya de esta cadena
que suelto a mi pesar, si al cabo os place
poner fin triste a nuestro dulce trato.

Yo vuestra culpa sufriré y mi pena,
pues tarde sé que en esto satisface
a tanta voluntad un pecho ingrato.
