El fuego que en mi alma se alimenta,
y consume al estéril duro frío,
da vida al casi muerto pecho mío,
y en virtud de sus llamas me sustenta.
Justo es que muera y viva en él y sienta
la gloria de mi dulce desvarío,
porque de mis trabajos yo confío
la esperanza del premio en quien me alienta.
Como en inmenso frío junta espira
inmensa oscuridad, cuya tristeza
ocupa el corazón con grave pena:
Así con el excelso ardor conspira
excelsa luz, que deja en su belleza
mi alma de alegría y de bien llena.
