En noche sola voy con sombra, oscuro,
sin bien, perdido, ajeno de reposo,
con débil paso y corazón medroso,
buscando del amor lugar seguro.
Siento al lado del arco el golpe duro,
y de mayor peligro receloso,
vuelvo sujeto a mi dolor penoso,
y en mal antiguo nuevo mal procuro.
El yerto, hórrido risco despeñado,
y la montaña áspera parece
llana senda al deseo que me lleva.
Culpa no es del, que siempre va engañado;
mas la razón, que ve, ¿por qué se ofrece
al conocido error que nunca prueba?
