Llegado al fin de cierto desengaño,
¿qué debo hacer más en mi tormento,
sino mostrar el ciego entendimiento
el error de su curso, siempre extraño?
Desespero, no temo ya algún daño,
huyo, osando en el mal mi perdimiento;
y aunque no gusto bien el bien que siento,
huelgo hallarme libre de mi engaño.
Mas todo es vanidad, todo es braveza,
de estos mis pensamientos desvalidos,
que con cualquier favor harán mudanza.
Mal excusar ya puedo mi flaqueza
si amor a mis mejores dos sentidos
promete viva lumbre de esperanza.
