Huyo aprisa, medroso, el horror frío
y la aspereza y aterido invierno,
y la aura espero de Favonio tierno
contra su fuerza y el seco estío.

Mas, Herrera, en el grave estado mío
me ofende el prevenir y al fin dicierno
Céfiro breve y Aquilón eterno
y siempre en un error por mal porfío.

Al cabo habrá de ser que el destemplado
estío acabe en fuego o en tanta nieve
rígido invierno el pecho endurecido.

Vos que en sosiego, si de amor cansado,
estáis, o si pasión presente os mueve,
tened dolor de verme tan perdido.
