Si al Sumo Amor, la voluntad divina,
entre el Padre eternal y el Hijo eterno,
antes del tiempo, allá en su abismo interno,
forma en única esencia unidad trina;

si amado está por orden más vecina
a Dios, el serafín, luciente y tierno,
y arde el empíreo al más nevado invierno
do más alto lugar se le destina;

si al Sol nos muestra el Rey del Paraíso
en medio a los planetas colocado
y el fuego en la región tan junta al cielo;

siendo fuego el amor, mostrarnos quiso
que tiene cerca del más alto grado
quien con alas de amor más alza el vuelo.
