Juro, Escobar, por aquel lazo eterno,
nudo de amor, que entre los dos ha dado
tras discreta elección fuerza de hado,
en cuya luz la vuestra amo y discierno,

que ya que -ya del amoroso infierno
el fugitivo pie libre he sacado
y en puerto de salud llevó el cuidado
áspero temporal de helado invierno-,

hecha su redención, vuelve a su gloria
el alma, adonde por oficio tiene
perpetuar la risa de su llanto,

muera Filis, malvada en mi memoria.
Mas, ay, triste de mí, ¿de dónde viene
nombre tan duro enternecerme tanto?
