Partiendo de la luz, donde solía
venir su luz, mis ojos han cegado:
perdió también el corazón cuitado
el precioso manjar de que vivía.

El alma desecho la compañía
del cuerpo, y fuese tras el rostro amado;
así en mi triste ausencia ha siempre estado
ciego y con hambre y sin el alma mía.

Agora que al lugar, que el pensamiento
nunca dexó, mis pasos presurosos
después de mil trabajos me han traído,

cobraron luz mis ojos tenebrosos
y su pastura el corazón hambriento,
pero no tornará el alma a su nido.
