Luz que en el fuego vivo, en el tormento
mayor que se haya visto entre mortales,
ardéis mi corazón con ansias tales
que en medio de su mal vive contento;

si las partes que en vos escribo y siento
a vuestro merecer no son iguales,
excúseme con vos mis propios males,
que embarazan el flaco entendimiento.

Y si no puede haber cosa que sea
igual a lo que sois, ¿cómo podría
mostraros comparando al que no vea?,

salvo pintando un bien la fantasía
con la imaginación, cual lo desea
y cual os pinta agora el alma mía.
